William A. Capuano

William A. "Cappy" Capuano Sr., 83, of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, formerly of Cranston, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at the Palm Beach Medical Center, Palm Beach, Florida surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of 58 years to Theresa C. "Tess" (DeGiulio) Capuano. Born in Cranston, he was a son of the late Antonio and Victoria (Tammaro) Capuano. Mr. Capuano was the President and Founder of the Capuano Insurance and Real Estate Company, Cranston. He was the father of William Capuano Jr. and his wife Erin of Cranston, Lia Papa and companion Louis Scolardi of Smithfield and Robyn Hays and her husband Marc of Ohio. Loving grandpa of Nikki and Danielle Papa, Alex and Jessica Capuano and Tess and Meredith Hays. Cherished great grandfather of Giovanni Leander. Brother of Evelyn Recchia, Paula Sardelli and the late Robert Capuano. Brother-in-law of the late Edmund Recchia Jr. and John Sardelli. Bill also leaves many devoted nieces and nephews. Of all of his accomplishments in life, he was most proud of his loving family. William was a graduate of Cranston High School and the University of RI earning a B.S. Degree in Chemical Engineering. He served as a Lieutenant of the US Army Chemical Corp during the Korean War and as a Captain in the RI US Army Reserve Chemical Corp. He was Past President of the Cranston Independent Association, Former Cranston Civil Defense Director and a former member of the Cranston Chamber of Commerce. His funeral will be held on Saturday at 11:00am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Avenue Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Apostles Church, Pippin Orchard Road, Cranston at 12 Noon. Entombment will take place at the Mother of Hope Mausoleum in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Saturday morning 9:30-11:00am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Providence Rescue Mission, 627 Cranston Street, Providence, RI 02907-2813.
