William A. Ferrara

83, of Cranston, passed away on Monday, May 22, 2023, at Kent Hospital, Warwick surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Lillian (DiRaimo) Ferrara for nearly 61 years. Born in Providence and raised in Bristol, he was a son of the late William and Anne (Rich) Ferrara. Mr. Ferrara received a Certificate of Apprenticeship from the C.O. Hoffacker Co. and worked as a Master Machine Tool Rebuilder for over 40 years before retiring. He was a US Army Reserve Veteran. Bill was a member of the Knights of Columbus Scalabrini Council. His favorite role in life was that of Papa to his 6 grandchildren. They were a constant source of joy and love, and he would beam when spending time with and bragging about them all. He was a four sport letterman in high school and an avid golfer and bowler later in life. He especially enjoyed playing golf with family and friends. Throughout his life his passion ran deep for all of the New England professional sport teams. From his earliest days growing up in Bristol, Bill loved the water and quahogging. He passed this passion on to his family where they created a lifetime of happy and joy-filled memories.

Besides his wife Lillian, he is survived by his loving children, William A. Ferrara and his wife Michelle of Narragansett, Karen A. Pulsifer and her fiancée Melodi Caruso of Cranston, and Robert A. Ferrara and his wife Melissa of San Antonio, TX. He was the cherished “Papa” of Kayla Pulsifer, David Pulsifer, William Ferrara, Matthew Ferrara, Robert Ferrara, and Evan Ferrara. He was the brother of Virginia Camara of Bristol and the late Priscilla Lunney and Steven Ferrara. William was the brother-in-law of Lorie Ferrara of Bristol.

Bill leaves a legacy of hard work, integrity, love of family, and sense of humor that will continue to inspire his children and grandchildren. His family will cherish the stories and memories of him and will miss his quick wit. He was the ultimate example of how to be a husband, father, and grandfather and will be deeply missed by everyone who loved him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Rocco Church, Johnston. Visiting hours and burial is respectfully omitted.
