68, of Hollywood FL., formerly of Providence, RI, passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2016. Born in Providence, he was the beloved son of the late Ret. PPD Major William R. Paniccia, Sr. and Madeline “Tootsie” (DiFolco) Paniccia.
Bill graduated from Providence College and Roger Williams University and was a 1st Lt. in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War before joining the Providence Police Department.
He was the former husband of Marsha (Lombardo) Paniccia; devoted father of William R. Paniccia, III and Christine Paniccia Davis and her husband Stephen; loving grandfather of Lincoln M. Davis; and dear brother of Robert J. Paniccia (Ret. Sgt. PPD).
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Friday, July 29th at 10 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Bartholomew’s Church, 305 Laurel Hill Ave., Providence at 11 a.m. Burial with military honors will be at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS are FRIDAY MORNING from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.
