Aldo Ricci Obituary

76, of Providence, RI passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 25, 2023, surrounded by his loving family at Rhode Island Hospital.

Born in Sulmona Province L’Aquila, Italy he was the son of the late Berardino and Lusiana Ricci. When Aldo arrived in the United States in 1969, he settled in the North End of Boston where he began his career at Central Beef. Aldo soon met his beloved wife of almost 50 years, Franca (Letteri) Ricci. Shortly after, the couple began their life in the federal hill section of Providence, Rhode Island where he became a prized butcher for AJ Martin Inc. for 35 years, later working part time after retirement at Venda Ravioli and Fed-Rick Veal.

He is survived by his son Giovanni Ricci and his wife Lisa Franchitto Ricci of Johnston, his daughter Cristina Ricci Milano and her husband Gino Milano of North Providence, his cherished grandchildren Liliana and Giuliana Ricci and Giancarlo Milano. Aldo also leaves behind his sisters Lidia Ciamei of Medford, MA, Olga Pasqualone of Everett, MA and Adelma Silvestri of Sulmona, Italy, in addition to many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Aldo is predeceased by his siblings Carmine, Pasquale, Alba, and Adelmo Ricci and his grandsons Lorenzo and Lucio Milano.

Aldo loved to garden and would often share the fruits of his labor with all his neighbors and friends. He enjoyed making his own cured meats, homemade sausages and wine. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, and he loved his New England Patriots. He and his wife also enjoyed traveling.

His funeral will be held on Saturday April 1st, 2023 at 9 am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave. Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Ghost Church at 10 am. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph’s Mausoleum in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.

Visiting hours are Friday March 31, 2023 from 5 pm to 8 pm.
