Almanny Nuñez Obituary

Almanny Isaiah Nuñez, 17, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 8, 2022. He was a talented student, a beloved son, grandson, brother, and friend. Though he left this world far too soon, he was able to touch the hearts of all who knew him.

 

Almanny was the beloved son of Pedro and Marielis (Valerio) Mercado along with Franklin Nuñez. Almanny was due to be a rising senior at Rocky Hill Country Day School this upcoming fall. An honor roll student, Almanny earned many high honor academic awards, most notably the 2022 Civic Leadership Award. Recently he participated in the 2022 Student Diplomacy Corps International where he visited Spain and had the opportunity to enroll in college courses at the Instituto Ibérico.

 

Most importantly, Almanny was a young man who loved the Lord. He was an active and dedicated member of Centro Cristiano de Adoración – Christian Worship Center and The Lighthouse Fellowship Church. He frequently participated in the youth ministry and other service projects. During this year’s bible challenge, Almanny led his team to win the regional competition and earned MVP honors at both the regional and final competition.

 

Almanny’s gentle soul and genuine smile will forever live in the hearts of family and friends. Besides his parents, Almanny is survived by his dear sisters Kaylee and Lia Mercado both of Providence, RI and his brothers Elijah and Nehemiah Nuñez both of New Port Richey, FL and Maxwell Mercado of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.  Also, his grandparents Roberto and Maribel (Mesa) Valerio of Providence, RI; Dr. Pedro and Dr. Mayra (Lozano) Mercado of Providence, RI; Alselmo Nuñez, of Providence, RI; and Dr. Arelis Valerio of Providence, RI. Almanny will also be remembered by his aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of relatives and friends.

 

Visiting hours will be held in the Nardolillo Funeral Home & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Tuesday, August 16 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 pm.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Wednesday, August 17 at 10:00 AM in Centro Cristiano de Adoración – Christian Worship Center, 1220 Elmwood Ave., Providence, RI. Burial will follow in Swan Point Cemetery, 585 Blackstone Blvd, Providence, RI.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Almanny Nuñez Scholarship fund created in his honor to help youth participate in the Bible Challenge Competition. Donations can be made in his honor to Centro Cristiano de Adoración – Christian Worship Center, 1220 Elmwood Ave., Providence, RI.

Almanny Isaiah Nuñez, de 17 años, partió para estar con el Señor el lunes 8 de agosto del 2022. Era un estudiante talentoso, un amado hijo, nieto, hermano y amigo. Aunque dejó este mundo demasiado pronto, pudo tocar el corazón de todos lo que los conocieron.

 

Almanny era el estimado hijo de Pedro y Marielis (Valerio) Mercado junto a Franklin Nuñez. En este próximo otoño Almanny iba a empezar su último año de la escuela secundaria en Rocky Hill Country Day School. Un estudiante con distinción, Almanny ganó muchos premios académicos de alto honor, entre los cuales se destaca el Premio al Liderazgo Cívico del 2022. Recientemente participó en el Student Diplomacy Corps International 2022 donde visitó España y tuvo la oportunidad de matricularse en cursos universitarios en el Instituto Ibérico.

 

Más importante, Almanny era un joven que amaba al Señor. Fue miembro activo y dedicado del Centro Cristiano de Adoración – Christian Worship Center y The Lighthouse Fellowship Church. Participó con frecuencia en el ministerio de jóvenes y en otros proyectos de servicio. Durante el Debate Bíblico de este año, Almanny lideró a su equipo para ganar la competencia regional y obtuvo los honores de MVP tanto en la competencia regional como en la final.

 

El alma gentil y la sonrisa genuina de Almanny morarán por siempre en los corazones de familiares y amigos. Además de sus padres, a Almanny le sobreviven sus queridas hermanas Kaylee y Lia Mercado, ambas de Providence, RI y sus hermanos Elijah y Nehemiah Nuñez, ambos de New Port Richey, FL y Maxwell Mercado de Santo Domingo, República Dominicana. También sus abuelos Roberto y Maribel (Mesa) Valerio de Providence, RI; el Dr. Pedro y la Dra. Mayra (Lozano) Mercado de Providence, RI; Alselmo Nuñez, de Providence, RI; y la Dra. Arelis Valerio de Providence, RI. Almanny igualmente será recordado por sus tías, tíos, primos y una gran cantidad de parientes y amigos.

 

El horario de visitas se llevará a cabo en Nardolillo Funeral Home & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston el martes 16 de agosto de 5:00 p.m. a 8:00 p.m. Los familiares y amigos están invitados a asistir a su funeral el miércoles 17 de agosto a las 10:00 a.m. en el Centro Cristiano de Adoración – Christian Worship Center, 1220 Elmwood Ave., Providence, RI. El entierro seguirá en el Cementerio Swan Point, 585 Blackstone Blvd, Providence, RI.

 

En lugar de flores, la familia pide que se hagan donaciones al fondo de becas Almanny Nuñez creado en su honor para ayudar a los jóvenes a participar en la competencia de Debate Bíblico.
