Anita L. Alterio

81, of Johnston, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at RI Hospital.

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Helen (Marandola) Alterio. She is survived by her dear sister Elaine Kreager and predeceased by her brother Anthony P. Alterio. She also leaves behind nephew William Kreager, nieces Robin Kreager, Pamela Alterio, Colleen Rosky, Nancy Alterio, Christine Alterio, and several grand, great-grand and great-great-grand nieces and nephews.

Anita worked for the State of RI for many years before retiring. After retirement she held part-time jobs at BJs and Stop & Shop. Anita loved walking, reading, and above all, making people laugh.

She will be lovingly remembered for her eternal optimism, her sense of humor and her kind heart.

Her funeral service and burial are private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association Rhode Island Chapter, 245 Waterman Street, Suite 306, Providence, RI 02906.
