Anthony "Tony" W. Lapati

85, of Johnston, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, March 31, 2024 at the Morgan Health Center, Johnston.  He was the beloved husband of Constance (Morena) Lapati.  Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Anthony and Angela (Rao) Lapati.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving children, Anthony Lapati, Jr. and his wife Carol, Constance Giarrusso and her husband Raymond, JoAnna Lapati and her companion Maria, Donna Lapati and her companion Joe, Gina Byra and her husband Joe; cherished grandchildren Ronnie, Jennifer, Vanessa, Brianna, Silvanna, Natallia, Selena, and great grandchildren Aria and Aubrey; siblings Andy Lapati, Joan Ladefian, and the late Marjorie Brady.

He was a proud veteran who served his country in the branch of the United States Army. Later he crafted his skills as a small business owner manufacturing costume jewelry. His passion to strive for excellence in the industry provided him with decades of business which brought him into his retirement years. In his free time, he loved caring for his lawn and flowers, current events and following politics. He was always up for a good debate and was never afraid to voice his opinion.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the facilities and staff of Morgan Health Center, Briarcliff Manor, St. Elizabeth Day Center, and The Friendly Home.

His Funeral Services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association, RI Chapter, PO Box 114098, North Providence, RI 02911.
