Aroutun Akopian

Aroutun Akopian

of Briggs St., Cranston, RI, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center in Providence. Born in Armenia, the son of the late Sarkis and Azatouhi (Shaldjian) Hagopian, he came to the U.S. in 1982 settling in Cranston.

Aroutun was a co-owner with his brothers of Jet-O-Matic Car Wash in Woonsocket from 1985 to 2005.

He was the devoted father of Ani A. Dedeyan and her husband Johnny, Sarkis A. Hagopian and his wife Marisa and Arthur A. Hagopian, all of Cranston; dear brother of Hagop Hagopian and Armen Hagopian, both of Cranston; and loving grandfather of Julianna, Sofia, Giovanni and Donovan.

VISITING HOURS are WEDNESDAY MORNING, March 20th from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. in STS. VARTANANTZ ARMENIAN APOSTOLIC CHURCH, Providence, followed by a Funeral Service at 10 a.m.  Burial will be at North Burial Ground, Providence.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Sts. Vartanantz Church, 402 Broadway, Providence, RI 02909.
