Attilio F. Iacobucci

92, of Providence, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence. He was the beloved husband of sixty-six years to Latterina (Spaziano) Iacobucci. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Francesco and Maria Lucia (Savino) Iacobucci. Attilio was a Civil Engineer for the Department of Transportation, State of RI for forty-three years before retiring in 1985. At the time of his retirement he served as Chief of Highway Construction. He was a US Army veteran  serving during WW II in the Pacific Theatre.

Besides his wife he is survived by his loving children, Maria Woodruff of Providence, and Amelia F. Jestings and her husband William of Providence, Attilio was the cherished grandfather of Kyle Woodruff and his fiancé Lindsey Solomon of North Providence, Francesca Jestings and her companion Kris Sanders of Stoughton, MA, and Alexander Jestings of Providence, RI and was the great-grandfather of Valentina Woodruff. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Attilio was the brother of the late Louis, Bernardino “Benny”, Eraclio “Rocky” Iacobucci and Mary Pistocco.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Thursday at 8:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in the Cathedral of S.S. Peter & Paul, Cathedral Square, Providence/ Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery. Cranston. VISITING HOURS Wednesday 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to, Hope Hospice & Palliative Care RI, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904.
