Obituary

 

80, of Johnston RI, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family after a courageous 6½ year battle with ovarian cancer on Friday, September 8th, 2023.  She was the daughter of the late Albert and Lena Martino of Johnston, RI.  She is survived by her loving children, Peter P. Montaquila, Jr. and his wife Doreen, Tammy (Montaquila) Johnson and her husband Steven, and Jeffrey N. Montaquila and his wife Jill.  She was the proud grandmother of Brianna, Steven, Carissa, Alec, Matthew, and Paige.  She was ecstatic to be GiGi to five beautiful great grandchildren.  Barbara is also survived by her sisters Marie Vance and Dorothy Long of Florida and her brother David Martino of Scituate RI.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial Monday September 18th, 2023 at 10 am in St. Robert Bellarmine Church 1804 Atwood Avenue, Johnston RI.  Inurnment is private.
