Carolyn V. (Brault) Merola

79, of Johnston, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, May 22, 2022. She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony C. Merola. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Helena (Mellon) Brault. Carolyn was known as “The Bear” to all her close family and friends. After graduating from Roger Williams University, Class of 1974, Carolyn became a teacher in the Providence Public School System for 40 years; spending most of her career at Carl G. Lauro. Carolyn worked with the Head Start program prior to that. She enjoyed gardening and reading. 

Carolyn leaves behind her one loving daughter, Carolyn (Lynne) and Terrance Saccomagno. She was the cherished grandmother of Lauren, AJ, and Santino Saccomagno. Carolyn was the sister of Lois (Brault) and her husband, Arthur Fenner, and the late Edmund Brault. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and her beloved pets Chardonnay and Chablis. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Month’s Mind Mass on Sunday, June 5, 2022, at 12:00 pm in St. Rocco’s Church, 927 Atwood Ave in Johnston, RI 02919 to celebrate Carolyn. Visiting hours are kindly omitted. Burial is private.
