Elyse A. Garabedian

of Cranston, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2018 at home where she was cared for and deeply loved. 

She was the daughter of Armenian Genocide survivors Krikor and Baizar (Stepanian) Garabedian, Born and educated in Marseille, France, Elyse moved to Rhode Island in 1947, where she was the owner of Elyse Couture in Cranston until she retired.  She was a member of Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church which she attended faithfully all her life.

She is survived by her sisters Louise and Rosette Garabedian with whom she lived, Suzanne Simonian of North Providence and Marie Haratunian of Glen Head, Long Island.  She was the aunt of six nieces and nephews, and great-aunt to twelve great-nieces and nephews, all of whom she dearly loved.

Elyse’s funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 21st at 10 a.m. in Sts. Vartanantz Church, Providence, followed by her burial in North Burial Ground, Providence.  Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
