Eugene A. Liberati, Esq.

September 8, 1923 — January 12, 2019

Eugene A. Liberati, Esq.

of Cranston and Jamestown, was born on September 8, 1923 in Providence. He was the son of Peter and Virginia Liberati, who both had immigrated from Italy.

He attended public schools and graduated from Classical High School in 1940. He attended Rhode Island State College (now U.R.I.) for two years, when he was drafted into the U.S. Army. He was selected for Officer Candidate School, and became a first lieutenant. He was honorably discharged in 1946. He then attended Boston University Law School, and graduated in 1950. He was married that same year to Marie Ferraro, and they had five children, Denise Landes, Mark Liberati, Janine Schwartz, Anita Iamonaco, and Lauren Cherry. He was blessed with 15 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and two more soon to arrive.

He was proud of his family, for whom he is eternally grateful, especially in last days. He cherished his days in Jamestown, which served as his refuge, and where he spent many hours of happiness and peace.

He especially cherished spending holidays with his family in Jamestown, and his nearly daily ritual of digging quahogs.

He had been a member of the Rhode Island Bar since 1950, and concentrated his practice on financing of HUD insured multifamily projects and nursing homes.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 10:00 am in Immaculate Conception Church, 237 Garden Hills Drive, Cranston.
