Guido Petrosinelli Obituary

Guido J. Petrosinelli, 80, of Hope, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2023.  He was the beloved husband of Marilyn M. (Mezzancella) Petrosinelli, his wife of 60 years.  He was born and raised in Providence, a son of the late John and Antonetta (Napolitano) Petrosinelli.

After leaving high school early to help support his family, Guido and his parents built a successful food service and catering business.  Shortly thereafter, he became one of the earliest (and youngest) Dunkin’ Donuts franchise owners in the State of Rhode Island, having purchased his first Dunkin’ store in 1968, at the corner of Mineral Spring and Smithfield Avenues in Pawtucket.  Over the next 50 years, he became one of the largest owners and operators of Dunkin’ franchises in the State, owning twenty separate stores in various locations and sitting on numerous Dunkin’ corporate committees.  For all of his accomplishments, in 2015 Guido was elected to the national Dunkin’ Donuts Franchise Owner Hall of Fame, an honor that has been bestowed on fewer than 50 people nationwide.

Guido also was active with many charities over the course of his life, donating a significant amount of time, resources, and Dunkin’ products to a number of charitable endeavors.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his sons Joseph G. Petrosinelli (Kara) of McLean, Virginia and David A. Petrosinelli (Tanya) of New York, New York, and his four cherished grandchildren, Michael, Maria, Nicolas, and Jack.  He is also survived by his sisters Barbara Musselman, Diane Spagnoli, Gail Ribaudo, and Cheryl Petrosinelli, and was preceded in death by his brother Stephen and sister Joan.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 10:00 am at Holy Apostles Catholic Church, Cranston.  Entombment will take place at St. Ann’s Cemetery Mausoleum, Cranston.
Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
