Harry Toumasian

Harry Toumasian

92, of Lincoln, passed away on Friday, August 26, 2016 at Fatima Hospital in North Providence.  He was the beloved husband for 69 years of Agnes (Topalian) Toumasian.  Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Hagop and Esquhie (Papazian) Toumasian and dear brother of the late Bagdasar and Rose Malkasian.

Harry was the co- owner with his wife Agnes of the Near East Market in Providence and later in Cranston for 40 years before retiring in 1996.  He was a WW-II U.S. Army veteran serving in the South Pacific Tinian Island.  Harry was a member of Thomas Smith Webb Lodge (now affiliated with) St. John’s Lodge #1Providence, a member of Royal Arch Masons, St. John’s Commandery KT, Calvary Commandery 13KT, Scottish Rite Valley of Providence, Rhode Island Shriners and the Armenian Masonic Degree Team.

Besides his wife, he was the loving uncle of Kathy Roberts, Eva Zartarian, Tommy Toumasian, Michael Toumasian, David Griego, Elisa Griego and the late Jack Toumasian and Ronnie Malkasian; dear brother-in- law of William and Marguerite Griego; and loving great-uncle of several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Tuesday, August 30th at 11 a.m. in Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church, 402 Broadway, Providence, followed by burial with military honors at North Burial Ground, Providence.  VISITING HOURS are TUESDAY MORNING at CHURCH from 9:30 a.m. to 11a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Harry’s name may be made to a Church of your choice.
