Helen D. (Volpe) Petit

97, formerly of Cranston, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2024.  She was the wife of the late Edmond G. Petit.

Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Giovanni and Mary (Vento) Volpe.

A devoted mother and grandmother, she enjoyed cooking for and spending time with her family.  She also enjoyed watching old movies.

She leaves a daughter, Deborah Rowley and her husband James of Saunderstown; a sister, Lillian Farland; a brother Hercules Volpe; five grandchildren, Kyle Rowley, Travis Rowley, Tyler Rowley, Rev. Brendan Rowley and Christopher Pierson; and ten great-grandchildren.  She was the mother of the late Judy Pierson; grandmother of the late Corey Pierson; and sister of the late Jean Calise, Joseph and Matthew Volpe.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, March 22, 2024 at 10am in St. Thomas More Church, 53 Rockland Street, Narragansett. Burial will follow in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
