83 of Narragansett lost his courageous battle with cancer and died peacefully on April 12, 2018. He leaves the true love of his life, his wife Betty (Coletti).  They were married for 62 years and were together for more than 66 years. He was the father of his beautiful daughter, Diane and he will join his two sons, Henry Jr. and David in his next life.  Born in Providence he was the son of the late Henry and Louise (Guyette) Gombeyski; brother of Charles Gombeyski, sisters of Gail Gordon, Wendy Kroll and the late Joan Whitecross. He was the uncle to many nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces. Also was Godfather to several children. He was a talented boat carpenter and painter at Narragansett Terrace Boatyard for over 40 years before retiring in 1999.

He loved boating and camping at Long Cove Campgrounds. He will be sorely missed by all of his many friends and relatives. In addition to maintaining his impeccable property, he loved working in his garden which brought him back to the  years he spent growing up with his grandparents on their farm in Johnston.

Calling hours will be from 9-10 a.m. on Tuesday morning, April 17 in the Nardolillo Funeral Home SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 1111 Boston Neck Road, Narragansett, RI followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Mary’s Star of the Sea, 864 Point Judith Road, Narragansett, RI. Burial will be held in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston, RI.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to Hope Hospice and Palliative Care of RI, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
