Hilda (Gomes) Pizzuti

91, of Hope, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2021, surrounded by her loving family.  She was the beloved wife of Robert E. Pizzuti for sixty years.

Born in Cranston, she was a daughter of the late Flormino A. and Jennie (Simoes) Gomes.  Hilda Pizzuti was employed by Kenney Manufacturing in Warwick where she met her husband and later worked for Vargas Manufacturing before retiring.

    Hilda was an avid accordion player for almost her entire life. She entertained her family and friends at many gatherings and the first thing they asked her when she walked in was “Hilda, did you bring the accordion?” She was often referred to as the life of the party. Hilda also loved gardening and many remember seeing her with a rake, hose or hedge trimmer in her hand or found a bag of vegetables from her garden on their door step. Most of all Hilda loved spending time with her devoted family and friends. She also was a member of the Red Hat Society.  Besides her husband, she leaves her two children, Robert L. Pizzuti of Carlsbad, CA and Marlene Pizzuti and her wife Cory Triglia of San Diego, CA; four siblings, Edward Gomes of Coventry, Mary Sirois of Englewood, FL, Dorothy Rodrigues of Cranston and Belmiro “Billy” Gomes of Fitchburg, MA; her grand dog Angel; grand cat Maddie; and many nieces and nephews.  She was the sister of the late Laura DeCosta.  

Her funeral service will be held Friday, June 25, 2021, at 11am in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston.  Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery.  VISITING HOURS Friday from 9-11am.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community MusicWorks at 1392 Westminster Street, Providence RI 02909.
