James Grant Obituary

James E. “Jimmy” Grant, 73 of Coventry, passed away with his family by his side Saturday, July 30, 2022. Born in Providence he was the son of the late James W. and the late Margaret (Quirk) Grant. He was the beloved husband of Ellen (Pinkham) Grant.

Jimmy proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Prior to his retirement he was a longtime employee of Electric Boat in North Kingstown; his favorite position there was an inspector.  He took great pride in his home, always finding another small project to complete. He was an avid reader and enjoyed tinkering with electronics, radios and was also known to do some woodworking. He was a Member of Wanskuck Post #56

Besides his wife Ellen he is survived by his sister Catherine Ruzzano. He also leaves a nephew John Ruzzano and his wife Maureen and a niece Mary Campbell and her husband Matthew. He was predeceased by his brothers John W. Grant, Charles F. Grant, and brother-in-law John Ruzzano.

 

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday August 5, 2022, at 11:00 am at the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston. Burial with full military honors will be immediately following at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. VISTING HOURS will be just prior to the service from 9:00- 11:00am. In lieu of flowers donation in his memory can be made to RI Veterans’ Home, 480 Metacom Ave., Bristol, RI 02809.
