Obituary

 94 of Cranston passed away Thursday August 4, 2022 at Cedar Crest Nursing Home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Rita (Gauvin) McMahon.

Born in Providence he was the son of the late Thomas and Mary Ellen (Devitt) McMahon. James was an upholsterer for the Harvey Probber Company for 35 years before retiring and was a WW-II Coast Guard veteran.

He was the devoted father of Sharon Goulet of Cranston, James McMahon II and his wife Mary-Carol of Cranston and Steven McMahon and his wife Lori of Warwick and uncle to John McMahon. He was the loving grandfather of 6 and loving great-grandfather of 12, and dear brother of the late Mary O’Rourke, Thomas McMahon and Katherine Connell.

His funeral will be held on Wednesday August 10, 2022 at 9 am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave. Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Matthew’s Church 1291 Elmwood Ave. Cranston at 10 am. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery Cranston. Visiting hours are Tuesday August 9, 2022 from 4 pm to 7 pm.
