John Giramma Sr. Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John L. Giramma Sr., who passed away in Naples, Florida on November 12th, 2023, previously of Narragansett RI. 

John was born on September 2nd,1941, in Providence, Rhode Island to Giuseppe and Oliva Giramma. He was a graduate of Rhode Island Vocational Technical school and served in the Rhode Island National Guard. He worked at Wood's Service Station and with The Providence and Worcester Railroad, additionally he owned and operated J & J Landscaping. 

John married his beloved wife Bernice Alviti on May 29th,1965. They were happily married for over 58 years until Bernice's passing in September. Together they raised their two children, John Jr., and Gina, both of whom survive John today. 

John was also preceded in death by his brother Antonio Giramma. He is survived by his sister, Sister Angelina Giramma MPF, grandchildren: Sebastian, Victoria, Gianni and Federico Giramma and many cousins, nieces and nephews. 

John was known for his good humor and love of life; he enjoyed driving around town to meet up with friends for lunch and always had a joke or two to share with anyone he met. He was a member of The Knights of Columbus. 

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, November 19th, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, November 20th, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mark Church, 9 Garden Court, Cranston. Entombment will be held in St. Ann Cemetery, 73 Church Street, Cranston. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in John’s name to Religious Teachers Filippini Missions, 455 Western Ave, Morristown, NJ 07960. as a way of honoring John's memory.
