John J. "Jack" Healy

John J. "Jack" Healy

95, was greeted at the gates of heaven on March 14th by his bride of 68 years, Joann Ialongo, who preceded him on August 3, 2017. He was a distinguished member of the greatest generation and a true gentleman.

He is survived by his loving daughters Margaret (Peggy) Silvestri and Mary Raimondi. He also leaves his precious grandchildren Michelle Petrarca (James), Brooke Silvestri and John Raimondi along with his great granddaughter Carmella Rose. John was the youngest child born to Michael and Margaret (Galvin) Healy of Dorchester, MA.  He was the baby brother of the late Katherine (John) Lynch, Helen, and Mary Healy.

John was proud to have been a snowbird, spending over 30 years enjoying his winter home in Port Charlotte, Florida with his beloved wife.

Jack honorably served for 3 years in the United States Army during World War II as a medic in the European Theater. He then returned to his career as a lineman, later becoming an electrical inspector at the Quonset Point Naval Air Station. After retirement he continued his career as an electrical inspector with General Dynamics and then at Seabrook Nuclear Power station.

He is survived by his brothers and sisters in law who welcomed him into their family, Lucy (Richard) Hammond, Angela (Robert) Calvey, Michael A. Ialongo Jr. and Anthony (Barbara) Ialongo. He was the beloved brother in law of the late Marie (Fred) Cappello, Anna (Archie) Carpentier, and Michele; along with Domenic Ialongo whom he welcomed into his home and cared for for over 25 years. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held on Monday, March 19th from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Monday at 9am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church, 1525 Cranston Street, at 10am. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, March 18th from 4-7pm.
