John J. Vendettoli. Sr.

John J. Vendettoli, Sr. passed away peacefully at HopeHealth Hospice Center on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at the age of 68. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, John was the youngest child of the late Robert and Mary (Maria Bianco) Vendettoli, Sr. He graduated from Cranston High School East and received a degree in Culinary Arts from Johnson & Wales University. John was employed for 25 years in the Regan kitchen at the Eleanor Slater Hospital in Cranston where he used his love of cooking until his retirement.

John was a kind sole with a big heart.  He was known for his outgoing personality, generosity and his unconditional love for his family and friends. Participating in fundraising and charities was important to John. He always had a willingness to lend a hand and a listening ear to anyone he met.

John had a love for music and dancing. He was a huge Elvis fan and was fortunate to have visited Graceland twice with a dear friend. Fishing, camping, and cooking were some of his hobbies. He loved the ocean and the sun on his face. Spending time with family and friends was John’s greatest joy.

John is survived by his son, John Vendettoli, Jr., and his daughter Shanna Clark. Loving grandfather to six grandchildren, Tyler, Nicolas, Krysta, Anthony, Austin, and Jaxon. He was the brother of the late Robert Vendettoli, Jr. He is survived by his sisters, Roberta Meglio (Frank) of Cranston and Diane Bisceglia of Ellenton, Florida. John is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

VISITING HOURS are Saturday afternoon, February 17th from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Funeral Service at 5 p.m., all to which relatives and friends are invited.  Burial will be private.
