Kenneth Battersby, Sr. Obituary

Kenneth A. Battersby, Sr. passed away on Friday, April 12, 2024. Kenneth was born in Providence, RI to the late William and Gladys (Lawton) Battersby, and he was preceded in death by his siblings, Norma Sparling, Robert and Willam Battersby. Kenneth is survived by his children and their respective spouses, Kenneth and Anabela and Susan and Ryan. Kenneth was preceded in death by his beloved wife Margaret (Hughes) Battersby. Kenneth leaves behind many nieces and nephews, and will always be ‘Uncle Kenny’ to them. Kenneth leaves behind his grandchildren, Craig, George, and Travis.

Kenneth was a proud member of Local 94, where he was a skilled and successful Millwright for his entire career. He parlayed those skills into owning his own business, and he was a lifetime member of the Elks.

Kenneth took pleasure in life’s simple joys. He enjoyed seeing his young grandchildren grow and explore, and he worked tirelessly with his late brother, Robert, to develop a robust family tree that traced the Battersby clan back many generations.

Kenneth overcame loss at a young age and never forgot his roots. He gave everything he had to ensure his family had more than enough. He stood by his beloved wife at every step of her life and never overcame her loss. In death, they are once again reunited. Kenneth was a skilled worker, a loving husband, a beloved father, father-in-law, and grandfather. He leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion.

His funeral and burial will be private.
