Lois Pazienza Obituary

74, of Saunderstown, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2024 with her husband by her side.  She was the beloved wife of Marc J. Seifer, her life partner for 54 years.

Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Theresa (DiVona) Pazienza.

Lois Pazienza grew up in Cranston and graduated from Cranston West High School in 1967 where she was active in student council, chorus, and orchestra.  After earning a BS in Business Education at URI in 1971, she began working at the College of Business at URI and simultaneously continued her education, leading to a MA in Guidance and Counseling in 1976.  As an administrative assistant in the Accounting Department, one of Lois’ responsibilities was supervision of graduate assistants.  This was to be one of the more rewarding aspects of her job.   Working with such motivated and intelligent young adults and watching them expand their knowledge and confidence was gratifying and inspiring.  Lois committed to fully endowing a scholarship, which was initially started as a retirement gift for 32 years of service to the department from faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends of URI’s College of Business..

Lois lived her life with grace, dignity and joy. With her incredible smile, she was an inspiration to all who knew her. In the winters, for many years, she and Marc would vacation in the more than a dozen islands in the Caribbean. Traveling to the major countries of Europe, one true highlight was a magical time spent in Venice. During the summers, Lois and Marc for many years were beach bums, starting in Scarborough Beach and spending more than a quarter century at Bonnet Shores Beach Club.  She enjoyed cooking, snorkeling, needlepoint and crocheting.  She was also a longtime member of the Narragansett Library Book Club.

Besides her husband, she leaves her nieces and nephews, Allyn Pazienza, Myla Ross, Rob Pazienza, Kerry Tyson and Ken Tyson; her cousins, Deb Aubin, Donna Feeley, Michael DiVona, Val Villuccci and the late Jo-Ann Ragosta; and six grand nieces and nephews.  She was the sister of the late Rena Tyson, Paula Pazienza and Robert (Bobby) Pazienza.

Her funeral will be held on Monday, April 22, 2024 at 9:30am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory – SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 1111 Boston Neck Road, (Rt. 1A), Narragansett followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in St. Veronica Chapel, 1035 Boston Neck Road, Narragansett.  Her burial will be private in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lois M. Pazienza and Marc J. Seifer Endowed Graduate Accounting Scholarship.   Click HERE
