Louise Ellen (Boone) Johnson

67, of Saunderstown, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully Thursday evening (May 31, 2018) at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence, surrounded by her loving family. Born July 30, 1950 in Hartford, CT, she was a daughter of the late John K. and Ellen (Rotman) Boone. As a woman of strong faith, Louise found great joy in dedicating her life to sharing the hopes and promises found in the Holy Scriptures. Louise was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses at an international convention at Yankee Stadium, NY, in the late 1960's. She was a volunteer minister for over 50 years, including the past 10 years with the Newport Congregation.

A very caring, optimistic and capable individual, Louise held a BA from the University of Rhode Island and a master’s degree in the field of social work from Rhode Island College. As a licensed certified clinician and therapist, Louise had over fifteen years of experience providing individual, family, and group therapy to children, adolescents and adults with serious substance abuse, domestic violence, behavioral disorders and emotional problems. In her spare time, she was a volunteer, enjoyed the beach, played guitar, Scrabble and racquetball, but mostly enjoyed spending time with her family. Louise will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, her devotion to her God Jehovah and her family.

She is survived by her loving children, Rebekah E. McAllister and her husband Isaiah of North Kingstown, Paul D. Johnson of Voluntown, CT, Elizabeth E. Almeida and her husband Ryan of Saunderstown, and Jennifer E. Racicot and her husband Benjamin of Pawtucket. She was the cherished grandmother of Skylar Rose McAllister and Alexander Gavin Almeida. Louise was the sister of John K. Boone and his wife Kathy of Hudson, FL, Esther E. Cirillo and her husband Jay of Colchester, CT, and the late Timothy K. Rotman. She is also survived by numerous extended family members and friends in Rhode Island, Connecticut, North Carolina and Texas.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 9, at 2 p.m. at the Newport Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 36 Hillside Avenue, Newport. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. Burial will take place in Colchester, CT.
