Luigi Caputo

84, of Johnston, passed away at his home on Tuesday, May 8, 2018. He was the loving husband of Maria (Coletta) Caputo. They were to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary. Born in Pulsano, Taranto in Italy, he was a son of the late Pietro and Maria Graziella (D’Amato) Caputo. Mr. Caputo was employed by American Hoechst for twenty-five years, along with his own painting business that he worked on the side. Luigi spent the past twenty-nine years during the winters in Port Charlotte, FL. He enjoyed playing bocce, wine making, gardening, but mostly being with his loving family and close friends.

Besides his wife, Luigi is survived by his four loving children, Aldo Caputo and his wife Carla of Greenville, Gino Caputo and his wife Cindy of Johnston, Roberto Caputo and his fiancée Lori of Cranston and Rosamaria Gallucci and her husband Joseph of Cranston. Luigi was the cherished grandfather of Michael and Vincent Caputo, Maria and Joanna Gallucci and Robert L. Caputo. He was the brother of Ziata Screti of Taranto, Italy, Dolores Alfieri of Port Charlotte, FL and the late Cosimo Caputi.

His funeral will be held on Saturday, May 12th, at 8:45 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Ghost Church, 472 Atwells Ave, Providence. Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, 73 Church St., Cranston. VISITING HOURS will be held on Friday from 4:00-8:00 p.m.
