Mary Rose (Iaquinto) Dangelo

97, of Narragansett passed away Friday December 21, 2018.  She was married to the late Andrew Dangelo for 58 years.

Born in New Haven, CT she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Madelena (Barnardo) Iaquinto she resided in New Haven, CT most of her life and lived in Guilford, CT before moving to RI in 1970.

Mary was the owner and “Boss” of Maridee Bait and Tackle, Narragansett for many years until her death.

As a child she worked on the family farm, later working as a welder during WW- II, American Tubing Co, making exhaust pipes for airplanes, sewing bridal gowns in a department store, assembled chemistry sets for AC Gilbert Toy Factory, and a  quality inspector for Flexible Tubing.

Mary loved family, dogs, sewing, crochet, was an avid Red Sox fan, she loved playing cards and word games, and created a countless number of rigs for her store.

She was a member of the Narragansett Pier Fishing Club, the Narragansett Surfcasters Club, the Narragansett Pier Sports Fishing Association, the Guilford Agricultural Society, she was on the Polo Club board for 12 years, and was active in the Girl Scouts, Campfire Girls and Little League.

She was the mother of Louise (Gil) Worrell of Killingworth, CT, Andrew (Linda) Dangelo of West Kingston, RI, Marie (Richard) Walston of Guilford, CT and Kim (Jeremy) Kezer of Amesbury, MA, grandmother of Christopher, Edwin, Kate, Becky, Amber, A.J. and the late Brian Walston and Jeremy Worrell, great grandmother of Luke, Lily, Bella, Charlie, J.P., Joshua, David and Anna, she was the sister of the late Irene Garguilo, Joseph, Alphonse, Lugo, Mike and Salvatore Iaquinto. She also leaves her beloved dog and constant companion Whipper and her grand pups Fiona, Selchie, Reef, Ghillie and Hunter.

She also leaves behind many dear friends, and the earth angels that cared for her for three years until the evening she passed.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday January 5, 2018 at 11am in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church 864 Point Judith Road, Narragansett, RI. Burial will follow in Nut Plains Cemetery Guilford, CT. VISITING HOURS will be held on Friday January 4, 2018 from 5-8pm at the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, South County Chapel, 1111 Boston Neck Road (Route 1A) Narragansett, RI.
