Mary Legros Obituary

MARY (DERDERIAN) BOHIGIAN-LEGROS, 92, formerly of West Greenwich, passed away Monday, March 13, 2023 at Respiratory & Rehabilitation Center of Coventry.  She was the beloved wife of the late Maurice Legros and the late Edward Bohigian and dear companion of Robert Vicario of Narragansett.  Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Vagarshag and Margaret (Manoogian) Derderian.

Mary was the devoted mother of Robert J. Bohigian and his wife Denise of Clarksburg, West Virginia, and dear sister of the late Harry Derderian and his wife Shirley of Cranston.

Mary was a bookkeeper in the accounting department at Women & Infants Hospital in Providence for many years before retiring.

She was 1st Runner-up in 1993 of the Ms. Senior Sweetheart Pageant of RI; 1994 was the Queen of Ms. Senior Sweetheart of RI; and in 1995 was 4th Runner-up of Ms. Senior Sweetheart America.

Mary’s motto: “I believe just as the eyes are the mirrors of the soul; Compassion and a positive attitude are the mirrors of the heart”.

VISITING HOURS are Saturday Morning, March 18th from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church, Providence, followed by a Funeral Service at 11 a.m.  Burial will be at North Burial Ground, Providence.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Sts. Vartanantz Church, 402 Broadway, Providence, RI 02909.
