Mary E. "Marie" (Teigue) Renza

100, of Cranston, RI, passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at Cedar Crest Nursing Home in Cranston.  She was the beloved wife of the late John S. Renza, Sr.  Born in Providence, RI, Marie was the daughter of the late John and Eliza (Barlow) Teigue.  She was a graduate of St. Mary's Broadway and Bryant University.  Marie was a teacher for many years at St. Rocco School and Winsor Hill Elementary School in Johnston RI, before retiring.

She is survived by her loving children, John S. Renza, Jr. and his wife Marianne of Hope, RI, Jane M. Renza of Cranston, RI, and Gerald T. Renza of East Greenwich, RI.  Marie was the grandmother of John S. Renza, III and his wife Lauren, Dr. Gregory J. Renza and his wife Lauren Marcello, and Lauren J. Snell and her husband Arthur “A.J.”.  She was the great grandmother of Jack, Grace, Zachary, Cooper Renza, and Chase Snell.  She is survived by her sister, Mary Garvey.  She was predeceased by her brothers, Hubert G. Dolan and John F. Dolan, and her sister Margaret Gilhooly.

The family would like to thank her caregiver and friend, for over twenty years, Fatima Almeida.

Marie was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, who will never be forgotten.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church, Cranston, RI, on Friday, September 24, 2021, at noon.  Visiting hours are private for immediate family from 10:00 a.m.   Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston, RI.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Marie Renza to the John S. Renza, Sr. Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund at Bryant University, Box 40, 1150 Douglas Avenue, Smithfield, RI 02917-9963, or to a charity of your choice, would be greatly appreciated.
