Norma M. (Ursillo) Monte

of Desano Dr., Narragansett, passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center in Providence. She was the beloved wife of Philip H. Monte for 72 years.  Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Marguerite (D’Alessandro) Ursillo.

Norma was the devoted mother of Marsha A. Beach and her late husband Paul of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Frank C. Monte and his wife Gloria of Matthews, NC, Mary E. Camire and her late husband Roger of Narragansett, Phyllis J. Palizza and her husband Leonard, and Christine N. Gilmartin, all of Cranston; loving grandmother of Charles, William (deceased), Teresa, Stephen, Monica, Frank, Philip, Leonard, Christopher, Katie, Andrew and Tim; loving great-grandmother of ten; and dear sister of the late Eleanore Diaz and Rita Buoymaster.

Although trained as a classical pianist, Norma spent her early career years working at Barrett & Company Stockbrokers in Providence, after graduating from Edgewood Secretarial School.  Most of her life was spent as a devoted homemaker to her husband and her five children and the example she set as faith-filled loving Christian.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, July 21st at 10 a.m. in St. Mary, Star of the Sea Church, 864 Point Judith Rd., Narragansett, followed by burial at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.  Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
