Richard Martino Sr. Obituary

78, of Myrtle Beach, passed away on March 22,2023 at the age of 78 at the Grand Strand Medical Center, surrounded by his loved ones. He is survived by his loving wife and partner of 35 years, Christine Martino, his sons Richard Martino Jr and Mark Maynard, daughter Jessica Kimmick, granddaughters Elizabeth Martino and Jordan Kimmick and Grandson Hunter Kimmick as well as two Great-Grandchildren Cameron and Lilliann.

Richard was born on December 7th, 1944 in Providence, RI. He spent nearly 52 years in the Ocean State before moving to Montville, NJ where he spent the following 22 years. While in Montville Richard learned of his rare condition -Cardiac Amyloidosis and began treatment for this rare disease. 2019 Richard and Chris decided to move Myrtle Beach, SC to be closer to their daughter and grandchildren. 

Richard had a Master’s Degree in Accounting from Johnson and Wales University in Rhode Island. In his early career he was an Accounting Professor at Roger Williams University and then spent the majority of his life as a Business Consultant for dozens of different fields. Most recently he had been active in his local community and County affairs in Horry County, SC. While he enjoyed working with companies big and small to help fix their bottom line or work more efficiently his true passion was cooking. He was a self-proclaimed ‘Amateur Chef’ and loved nothing more in this world than cooking a beautiful meal for the ones he loved.

His funeral will be held on Friday, March 31, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary, Church, Cranston. Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
