92, passed away on Friday, June 11, 2021 at RI Hospital, Providence. She was the beloved wife of the late James Anderson. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary (Anticicco) Saccoccia.

A graduate of Cranston High School, Rita attended Bryant College in 1948, where she stayed on as a secretary, following graduation.  Rita continued her professional career with the A&P Tea Company, working as an executive secretary until her marriage. After raising her two children, Rita returned to the workforce, working as a receptionist for Jack Renza Associates and then moved on to Action Auto Body, where she retired from 12 years ago.

Among her hobbies, Rita enjoyed working in her yard, and planting her flowers.  But she found the most enjoyment from attending her son’s and grandson’s, with her daughter, baseball games, marking down pitching statistics in her little notebooks.

She is survived by her loving children: Jimmy Anderson and his wife Ellen Lurier of Sutton, MA and Mary Elizabeth Nicolace and her husband Ernest of Cranston; her cherished grandchildren: Lisa Little and Joseph Nicolace ; her great grandchildren: Alex Davis , Nico Little and Lilliana Little. She was also the mother of late James Joseph Anderson Jr. and sister of the late Leonora Topazio and Edward and Walter Saccoccia.

Her visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-7 pm in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by her funeral home service on Thursday morning at 11 am and burial to follow in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston.
