Robert S. Benton

89, of Narragansett, passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 peacefully at home.  He was the beloved husband of Gloria S. (Buonanni) Benton.  Born in Brooklyn, NY, Robert was the son of the late Alexander S. and Grace (Allison) Benton.  Robert worked for 47 years for the Charles Bruning Company (later AM Corporation and Oce) starting as a back man in the paper coating plant and working his way to service technician, sales representative and eventually sales manager of the Boston office, from which he retired. 

Robert is survived by his loving children, Peter S. Benton of Morrisville, NC, Allison B.C. Luck of Nashville, TN, Jennifer L. McGahey of Elwood, IN, and Barbara A. Benton of Corpus Christi, TX.  Robert was a grandfather of 8 and great-grandfather of 1.  He was the dear brother of Judy A. Willbergh of Brick, NJ, and the late Elizabeth A. Heald and Jeanne F. Middlemass. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 11 A.M. in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 864 Point Judith Rd. in Narragansett.  A ;ivestream of Mr. Benton's Mass may be found at www.stmarystaroftheseari.org.
