Robert "Bobby" Gonsalves, Sr.

ROBERT “BOBBY” GONSALVES, SR., 85, of West Warwick, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2022 at home with his beloved wife Gail and his daughter Christine by his side.  Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Angelo and Maria (Ferrucci) Gonsalves.

Bobby was a U.S. Marine Corps Korean War veteran and a truck driver and member and past shop steward of Teamsters Local 251. He was the former co-owner and operator of Oaklawn Avenue Car Wash, owner of Cameo Real Estate and Black Belts Limited Karate School.  Bobby was an avid runner and known to many as the “Oaklawn Avenue Runner”.  He loved new cars and fast cars and loved The White Mountains in NH where he married his beloved wife Gail, 25 years on September 25.

Besides his wife Gail, he is survived by his son Robert Gonsalves, Jr. of NH, daughter Christine L. Gonsalves of North Providence, stepson Robert A. Mariani of Cranston and his sister Joan Beauchemin and her husband William of West Warwick.  He was brother of the late Joseph Gonsalves (Ret. Major PPD).

His funeral service will be held on Monday, September 19th at 11 a.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by burial with military honors at RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter.  VISITING HOURS are Monday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
