Rose (Zanni) Marcaccio

December 20, 1928 — August 13, 2017

Rose (Zanni) Marcaccio

of Johnston, passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2017 with her loving family by her side. Rose leaves her husband of 68 years, Vito Anthony “Butch” Marcaccio, Jr.; her sons, Steven A. Marcaccio and his wife Trisha of Smithfield and Vito A. Marcaccio, III and his wife Susan of Johnston; and her daughter Cynthia A. Sousa and her husband Rick of Johnston.  She was the loving grandmother of Joanna, Donna and Steven Marcaccio and his wife Jessica, and Alexandria Sousa; cherished great-grandmother of Gia and Brock Marcaccio; and dear sister of Anna Ricci and Benedetto “Bennie” Zanni, both of Johnston.  She was the sister of the late Michael, Anthony and Guy Zanni, Josephine Parisi and Marie Velino; and aunt of the late Joseph and Guy Zanni.

Rose worked at UNCAS MFG. in Providence for 30 years until retiring 23 years ago and was a communicant of Our Lady of Grace Church.

Besides her family, Rose loved cooking and baking.  On holidays you could always count on a 5 course meal.  She planned a yearly family picnic like she was running a banquet!  She also loved planting flowers and gardening in her back yard with precision.  Rose loved to travel with her family, going out to eat for lobster, and trips to Canada to visit her cousins.  In her spare time she volunteered at the Johnston Senior Center helping serve meals.  She loved to go shopping and would go to the mall like some people go to the market!

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, August 17th at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, 15 George Waterman Rd., Johnston, followed by burial at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.  Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Roger Williams Medical Center, Development Office, 825 Chalkstone Ave., Providence, RI 02908
