Rose "Rosie" M. (Scungio) O'Malley

ROSE MARIE (SCUNGIO) O’MALLEY “ROSIE”, 83, of Simmonsville Ave., Johnston, passed away Friday, July 1, 2022 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence.  She was the beloved wife of the late John T. O’Malley.  Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Kathleen (Fitzpatrick) Scungio.

Rosie was maintenance supervisor at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Ledyard, CT before retiring.  She was a lifelong Foster Parent; a member of Ancient Order of Hibernians Women’s Auxiliary; and a member of the Reservoir Triangle Crime Watch.

Rosie was the devoted mother of Patrick A. O’Malley and his wife Kimberly of Seekonk, MA, Cynthia A. Soares and her loving partner Jo Borsina of Johnston and John P. O’Malley and his loving partner Chris Lau of Quincy, FL; cherished grandmother of Robert S. O’Malley, Antonio M. Soares, Jr. and Adriana M. Soares; and dear sister of Vincent J. Scungio and his wife Anna of Cranston.  Rosie also leaves many loved nieces and nephews and her beloved and adored cat Kiwi.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, July 18th at 11 a.m. in St. Anthony’s Church, 549 Plainfield St., Providence, followed by inurnment at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.

Visiting hours and flowers are respectfully omitted.
