Steven J Moricas

58, of Wakefield, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2020. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late John and Eileen (Nicholson) Moricas. Steven was an entrepreneur from an early age. After graduating from Cranston High School West Steven purchased a catering truck and began his own catering business. During this time, Steven got married and found his way into the jewelry business where he worked his way up to factory manager at Vanity Jewelry. After running the jewelry factory for several years, his entrepreneurial nature couldn’t be fought any longer and he went on to own a coffee shop, a landscaping business and multiple liquor stores. Steven’s most recent endeavor was in real estate development. After leaving the real estate business, Steven eventually moved down to Wakefield where he worked in the Parks & Recreation Department for the Town of Narragansett before passing.

Steven was a long-time member of Ocean State Gym where many of his friendships began. Along with working out, Steven was also an avid Boston sports fan. He would often reminisce of the days when he would go to the old Foxboro Stadium to sit on the cold bleachers and watch the New England Patriots lose again and again. Out of all of Steven’s endeavors, however, being a father was without a doubt his proudest achievement.

Steven is survived by his loving son, Zackary J. Moricas, Esq. of Hope; dear brothers Michael P. Moricas and his wife Kristen of Narragansett, and Andrew J. Moricas and his wife Wendy of Cranston. Steven is also survived by his loving nieces, Rachel and Lindsay Moricas as well as his nephews Brendan and Ryan Moricas.

VISITING HOURS will be held in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston  on Sunday, September 20, 2020, from 2:00-5:00 pm. His funeral service and burial will be private.
