THOMAS N. GLASER

58, of Cranston, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family who adored him, on June 7, 2018 at RI Hospital after a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Lynne (Mowry) Glaser for 33 years. Born in Providence October 17, 1959 he was the son of the late Norman and Eileen (McDonough) Glaser. He was a graduate of Central High School in 1977 and was “Every girl’s summer dream” working as a lifeguard. He worked as a journeyman welder at Electric Boat and Precision Machinery before starting his career as a Correctional Officer for the State of RI in 1991.

He is survived by his children, Stephanie Hines and her husband Ben, Maxwell Glaser and his fiancé Kara DeBiasio and Kristin Shuler and her husband Ed. He was the cherished Papa to his four grandchildren, Malia and Eddie Shuler, and James and Luke Hines. Tom loved his family passionately and was known to brag about them continually. He was our great protector. He is also survived by his sisters, Sandra Parrillo of Rhode Island and Sheila Scaramuzzi (Michael) of Texas and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Richard Parrillo.

Tom’s favorite place to be was on the water fishing. Fearless of being juiced by electricity, he was known as Mr. Fix-it around the house and mastered the fine art of duct tape. An avid fan of the Patriots, he also loved video games and was happiest blowing something up. He loved “good music” and was known to belt out a good tune despite being tone deaf. He had a great sense of humor with a contagious laugh. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family but his legacy and memories will always remain with us.
