Umberto E. "Ben" Stanghellini

97, of Arthur St., Cranston, passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2018 of a broken heart.  Born in Bologna, Italy, he was the son of the late Primo and Natalie (Calzolari) Stanghellini.

Ben was a former union steward and aluminum fabricator in the window industry for many years and was a WW-II U.S. Army Air Force veteran.  For many years he participated in the Cranston Senior Center Olympics; enjoyed traveling, dancing and classical music.

Ben was the devoted father of Cheryl Perrotti and her husband David of Cranston and Maria DeAngelis of North Providence; dear brother of Harold Stanghellini and his wife Betty of Plymouth, MA; cherished grandfather of Kara; and loving great-grandfather of Paisley.

Visiting hours are Wednesday, March 28th from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston with a Funeral Service at 5 p.m., all to which relatives and friends are invited. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Plymouth, MA.
