William D. LaFazia

William D. LaFazia

96, formerly of Johnston, and of Winter Haven, FL, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, April 11, 2021. He was the beloved husband of the late Genevieve (Bartlett) LaFazia. Born in Johnston, RI, he was a son of the late Frank and Maria (Vastano) LaFazia. Mr. LaFazia was a welder for the US Government for many years before retiring. William was a US Army Veteran serving in WWII, where he was wounded in action and awarded the purple heart. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and was a dedicated member of the Civil Air Patrol since 1953, where he taught cadets how to fly.

William is survived by his loving children, Raymond LaFazia of Providence, Marilyn Graham and her partner Herbert Blanchard of North Scituate, and Robert LaFazia and his partner Kathleen Campopiano of Kissimmee, FL. He was also the loving father in-law of the late Donald Graham. William was the cherished grandfather of Tracey LaFazia, David LaFazia, Stacey Graham and Mark Graham and his wife Lynn, and great-grandfather of Michael McCole and Justin LaFazia. He was the brother of Rose D’Antuono, Flore LaFazia, Mary Arricco, Ethel Brisson, Joseph LaFazia, Lucy Antoscia, Albert LaFazia, Ernest LaFazia, and Frank LaFazia.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, May 10th, from 10:00-11:00 a.m., in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave, Cranston, followed by his Funeral Home Service at 11:00 a.m. Burial with military honors will take place in Acotes Hill Cemetery, 1049 Putnam Pike, Chepachet, RI. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Civil Air Patrol, P.O. Box 2628, Pawtucket, RI 02861.
