Yvonne M. (Nee Oliveira) O'Shea

June 3, 1946 ~ September 16, 2021 (age 75) 75 Years Old

Yvonne O'Shea Obituary

passed away at age 75 In Cranston, RI, on the 16th of September, 2021. She had been in care at Cedar Crest Nursing since March of this year. She born June 13, 1946, In Furna, Brava, Cape Verde, to Edgar De Sena Oliveira and Domingas J Oliveira ( Nee Francisco). Her Given name was Ivone Virginia Jose De Oliveira. She was a hardworking, self-driven, single mother who worked hard to provide for and raise her three children. Mrs. O’Shea was predeceased by her parents Edgar ( 2008) and Domingas Oliveira( 1997), Her sister Dulce Holske ( 1971), and her husband John J Oshea (1983). 

 

A Staple of local Flea markets and festivals for over 40 years, Yvonne was known for her colorful stall of bright clothing and accessories. Additionally, she worked as a beloved Nanny to many families over a 20 year period, before retiring in 2014. 

 

Yvonne is survived by her children, Kimberly Ritchey ( Nee Oliveira), and her fiance Thomas Menard of Providence, Angelo Oliveira of Warwick, and John Oliveira and his wife, Juliana of Ledyard, CT.  Her Siblings, Beatrice O’Dell ( Nee Oliveira), Judith Oliveira, and Edgar Oliveira Of Woonsocket, RI John Oliveira of Englewood, FL. Frank Oliveira, and Beverly Oliveira or Taunton, MA. Oliver Oliveira of Seekonk, RI.  And her many nieces and nephews. She Is lovingly remembered as “Grandma Shea” by her Three grandsons and two Grandaughters, as well as 5 great-grandchildren.  

 

No public service is planned. Per her wishes, Yvonne’s ashes will be scattered privately at a later date.  The family will join for a private gathering On Sunday the 26th of September in RI, to celebrate her life.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to dementia research, or to your local library’s children’s section, as Yvonne loved reading to her grandchildren and Charges.
