Domenic "Tom" Procaccini

March 31, 1932 ~ May 27, 2017 (age 85) 85 Years Old


of Cranston, RI, died Saturday May 27, 2017 at Rhode Island Hospital. His family was by his side. The beloved husband of 58 years to Vilma D. (Rosati) Procaccini with whom together owned and operated Tom’s Deli of North Providence, RI for nearly 40 years.

Tom, born March 31, 1932 was raised in the Silver Lake Section of Providence and was the youngest son to the late John J. Procaccini and Emma (Colozzi) Procaccini and brother to the late Anthony F. “Tony” Procaccini.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War.

Survived by his four children and their loving families; John Procaccini of Carson City, NV (Wife Katherine McKay), Thomas Procaccini of Cranston RI, Steven Procaccini, CT (Spouse Dr. Juan Carlos Olivares) and Tami Lynn Catala of Cranston RI (Husband Ricardo Catala Ortiz); grandchildren, Cassandra, AmyJo, Joshua, Domenic II, Conor and Grace; and great grandchildren, Wednesday, Chile (deceased), Willow, Parker, Joyie and Anna.  With a love for pets he will be sorely missed by Franco, Bella and Tabby!

Tom, fondly referred to as “the calzone king”, was known for his love of family and family gatherings and will be remembered for his home always being  open to his beloved in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, grand nieces and nephews, numerous friends and the childhood friends of his four children. He was a fan of ballroom dancing, Roller Derby and popular music from Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars and enjoyed playing electric piano.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Thursday, June 1st at 9 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Bartholomew’s Church, 305 Laurel Hill Ave., Providence at 10 a.m. Burial with military honors will be at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.  VISITING HOURS are Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
