74, of Cranston, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 13, 2017, passing unexpectedly at home. He was the beloved husband of fifty-one years to Elizabeth A. (DiScuillo) Tuten. Born in Washington, NC, he was a son of the late Roy F. Tuten, Sr. and Alma (Rowe) Tuten. Don was a US Navy veteran serving during the Cuban Missile Crisis and was part of the recovery mission of the NASA Gemini Five capsule. He was a union carpenter working out of Union Local #94 of RI for forty-seven years before his retirement. He was a star football player in High School. Don was an avid hunter and fisherman. He had a thirst for knowledge, loved playing trivia and reading. He enjoyed camping and the outdoors with his cherished family. His family was his life and he will be missed by all.

Besides his wife he is survived by his loving daughters, Audrey A. Tuten of Warwick, Carolyn A. Tuten-Wetherbee of Cranston, and Deborah S. Tuten-Coyne and her husband John of Cranston. He was the cherished grandfather of Brittany E., Jaysen T., Mitchell M. Wetherbee, Amber N. and Austin S. Coyne. He was the brother of Sue Davis of Pantego, NC, Joanne Tuten, Anita Tuten, and Lynne Tetterton, all of Chocowinity, NC, and the late Roy F. “Frankie” Tuten, Jr. He is also survived by many beloved family and friends in both Rhode Island and North Carolina.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Rocco Church, 927 Atwood Avenue, Johnston. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
