Welcome to the memorial page for

Kristine (Zarmanian) Martirossian

May 5, 1934 ~ January 14, 2017 (age 82) 82 Years Old

passed away, surrounded by her loving family, on January 14th, 2017.

Kristine was born in Kavala, Greece.  After World War II, she and the surviving family members of the Armenian Genocide repatriated into Armenia. However, afterwards, her will for freedom and determination to escape from Communism, drove her to emigrate her family to the United States.  That steadfast dream became reality in November 1978. After arriving in Boston, she and the family made Rhode Island her home for the next 39 years. There they all lived a symbiotic life, in Kristine’s nest, of helping each other establish themselves into the American Dream.

Wherever she was, in her homes or camping or on a picnic, she proved to be a great matriarch and friend who hosted many song-filled gatherings to share her fun-filled spirit and delicious food.

Kristine spent 65 adventurous and loving years with her husband Razmik, who she leaves with her remaining family. Together they raised four dedicated children: Karine Tovmasian, Gaiane Martirossian, Arous Parker and Avak Martirossian.

Also bereaved are 6 grandchildren, many of whom she helped rear; Kristine Tovmasian, Gregory Tovmasian, Anita Dudemaine, Bianca Martirossian, Nicholas Martirossian and Grant Parker II. With the pride and love of a great grandmother, Kristine felt very blessed to welcome and play with her two baby great granddaughters, Adelina and Charlotte. And for many years to come, the family will regale them with the legacy of Kristine.

In keeping with Kristine’s wish, her memorial service will remain private.

Memorial contributions may be made to: Armenian Children’s Milk Fund, 31 West Century Rd., Paramus, NJ 07652.
