96, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 8, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony “Nino” Barone, Jr.  A lifelong resident of Cranston, she was the daughter of the late Domenico and Rosa (Corpolongo) Cardi.

Mary was a self-employed hairdresser for several years. She was also a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, a member of the Tabor-Franchi VFW Post- Women’s Auxiliary, the Cranston Senior Center, treasurer of the St. Joseph’s Hospital Women’s Guild and the Women’s Legion of American Veterans.

She was the devoted mother of Dr. Anthony Barone and his wife Maria, Roland Barone and his wife Anna, and the late Dr. Thomas “TJ” Barone; loving grandmother of Thomas, Marisa, Caroline and Hope Barone; dear sister of Elizabeth Paolella, Dr. Erminio Cardi, and the late Rev. Roland Cardi, Irene Quintavello, Dr. Alphonse Cardi, Angelina Cantone, Peter, Paul and Nicholas Cardi.

Visiting hours and flowers are respectfully omitted.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, 1525 Cranston St., Cranston. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
