84, of Johnston, passed away Tuesday December 12, 2017.  He was the husband of the late Dorothy (Ricci) Wood.

Born in Providence he was the son of the late Charles and Martha (Ralston) Wood.

He was employed by the RI Department of Corrections for many years until retiring.  Previously he was employed for Autocrat Coffee Co. for many years.  Mr. Wood served in the US Army during the Korean War and 20 years in the Army National Guard after his discharge.

Charles was the father of Deborah Bock and her husband Timothy of Providence, Lori Brien and her husband Norman with whom he resided, Charles R. Wood II of North Providence and Sharon Wood of Johnston; grandfather of Nicholas Mainelli, Danielle Brien, Timothy and Michael Bock; brother of Ruth Turton of Johnston and the late William Wood and Margaret Whittaker. He was also survived by his canine companion Sophie.

His Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 11am in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave., Cranston.  Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.  VISITING HOURS Saturday morning from 9:30am to 11am. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the RI SPCA 186 Amaral St., Riverside, RI 02915.
