of Cranston, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2017.  He was the beloved husband for 41 years of Margaret M. “Peggy” (McGovern) Coupe.  Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Herbert S. and Doris M. (Simonini) Coupe of Greenville.

Jim was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 31 years before retiring in 2004; and was a U.S. Air Force Vietnam veteran.  A sports enthusiast, Jim coached youth basketball, baseball and softball for more than 20 years; and was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan.

Besides his wife Peggy, Jim was the devoted father of Jennifer L. Perrino and her husband Greg of West Warwick, Lori A. Peters and her husband Greg of Norwalk, CT and Lisa M. Malm and her husband Andrew of Warwick; and loving grandfather “Bop Bop” of Alexander, Andrew and Charlotte.

His funeral service, to which relatives and friends are invited, will be held on Wednesday, October 25th at 10 a.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by burial with military honors at Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter.  VISITING HOURS are Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
