68, of Cranston, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence. He was the beloved husband of Barbara (Matteucci) Schiano and they were married for the past 46 years . Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Giacomo and Florence (Chappron) Schiano.   Steve was a sheet metal worker and a member of Local  17. Steve was an avid N.Y. Yankees and New England Patriots fan.

Besides his wife he is survived by his loving daughters Jessica Schiano of Cranston and Alainna Schiano of New York, his dear siblings Janet Varone and her husband  Romeo of North Kingstown, Gerald Schiano and his wife Nancy of Greenville, Florence Tartaglione and her husband Nicholas of Caledonia, MI and Paul Schiano of Pawtucket. He was also the uncle of several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews who he adored; and held a VERY special place in his heart for Porkchop his granddog.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9 am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Mary’s Church, Cranston. Burial will take place in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Monday 4-7 pm.
